OBI Engages in Inclusive Exchange with Children with Life-Threatening Illness and Their Families at Karuizawa Sports Festival 2025

As part of OBi Group's ongoing CSR initiatives, OBI HOLDINGS PTE LTD partnered with "Hope & Wish for Children with Life-Threatening Illness and Their Families" (Location: Location: 4A Gojo Building, 2-9-10 Irifune, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Mr Riki Osumi) to carry out a two-day exchange program during the Karuizawa Sports Festival 2025, held on May 17-18 in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture.

Karuizawa Sports Festival 2025, hosted by the Karuizawa Child Future Fund-a joint initiative launched in 2022 with the non-profit organization Sports Community Karuizawa Club-, and specially sponsored by OBI, was designed to offer enriching sports and cultural experiences to all children. In line with the fund's vision to foster resilience and joy for children and their families, the event created an inclusive and empowering space for learning and connection.

Through our collaboration with "Hope & Wish for Children with Life-Threatening Illness and Their Families", nine children living with serious illnesses and their families were invited to participate. They joined baseball and soccer classes, and actively engaged in the team-based tug-of-war competition alongside children from the local Karuizawa community and guest athletes.

The event left a lasting impression on many participants. One family shared,"Seeing the guest athletes who have overcome immense challenges was truly inspiring for our whole family."

Another commented,"We returned home with unforgettable memories and a renewed sense of confidence to face everyday life."

The event also reaffirmed the importance and impact of fostering social connection and inclusion for us at OBI.

We remain committed to supporting initiatives that address critical social issues-especially in the areas of children's education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation-through financial contributions, collaborative event planning, staff engagement, and fundraising efforts.

It aim to build "a bridge" in both directions between "all children with life threatening illness and their families" and "society".
